Micro bead filled pad designed for use as a limb protector when contracture occurs. Options: one or two panels.
Chest/Limb Protector - Two-Panel (M182) to avoid skin damage. - Used, for example, between arm and sternum where contracture is an issue. - The protector can be used as a barrier between the part of the body and a harder surface such as a wheelchair side or underneath a resting heel. - The micro beads absorb the weight so minimising the cause of pressure sores. - With the soft cotton velour/poyester/Spandex this reduces the effect of sweating which helps to keep skin dry. - By keeping the skin dry the risk of skin breaking down and causing infection is minimised. - Machine washable/tumble dried. - The length is 39 cm, width 20 cm, with a depth of 2 cm. - A thinner alternative to M106 and M064, and wider than M181. - Micro-beads move, permitting changing position, avoiding pressure build up. - Micro-beads equalise pressure, adjusting to your shape to support you. - Micro-beads absorb the pressure and friction on skin reducing causes of shearing when skin is dragged in opposite directions. - Micro-beads maintain a gap between beads permitting airflow and dispersing heat - Micro-beads are naturally hypoallergenic and bacteriostatic and machine washable and dryable - Micro-bead products are extremely light in weight and can be folded for easier portability
